Job Title: Chill Country Kitchen Manager
Salary: Full-time, salaried + insurance benefits. Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
Typical Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Working onsite at the Chill Country Kitchen in South Austin off Hwy 290

About Us:
We launched Texas Hill Country Provisions (THC Provisions) in early 2020 with a mission to create quality products that celebrate the unique and magical aspects of our beloved home state. Starting with high-quality Texas-inspired apparel, we expanded in early 2023 to launch Chill Country Cannabis, offering a line of organic full-spectrum cannabis edibles.

Chill Country is rapidly becoming the premiere cannabis brand in Texas, and we’re seeking exceptional people to help us grow.

About the Job Opportunity:
This is a unique, hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-growing company where curiosity and initiative are highly valued. As part of our gummy production team, you’ll not only develop a deep understanding of food production processes but also explore the science behind them—like why pectin only forms bonds at certain pH levels or how sodium citrate buffers a solution.

If you’re eager to learn, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to help shape the future of a leading cannabis brand, this role is for you. Everyone at Chill Country plays a significant role in the company’s growth and has a high degree of agency in their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily production operations alongside the team, including ingredient handling, cooking, and packaging.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor team members to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage production schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
  • Oversee ingredient inventory and coordinate with the COO for procurement.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and operational SOPs.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Recruit and onboard additional team members during peak production periods.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for learning.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel) and general computer skills.
